Get your bike checked out from nose to tail by the best mechanic you know, it is very possible that your frame is bent and there could be other damage not readily visible. I also suggest you get yourself and your girlfriend checked out from nose to tail, there could be unseen damage there too.
You made a big mistake in not calling the police right away, I hope you at least got the name and address of the driver of the road whale. It may not be too late to report the accident and get his insurance to pay for your expenses. That varies from state to state and country to country. If nothing else, maybe a ticket for being so stupid will make him look for bikes next time.
I'm glad you're still alive to tell us about this and hope your Savage is OK too. I also hope the guy driving the road whale doesn't kill someone next time.
